At String Theory Jiu-Jitsu, women of all experience levels are welcomed into a clean, safe, and empowering environment. Our program helps women build strength, confidence, peak athletic fitness, and practical self-defense skills in a supportive community. While learning to protect yourself is essential, it’s only the beginning—you’ll also develop focus, discipline, and resilience that extend far beyond the mats.

String Theory was founded by Sam Bretado in Mahopac New York; who has spent over a decade studying the art—traveling, training, coaching, and competing in prestigious and high profile competitions. Passionate about sharing his knowledge, Sam helps students of all levels achieve their Jiu-Jitsu goals by combining practical techniques with sound theory. A Black Belt under JT Torres, he works with newcomers, competitors, athletes, and children alike.
